Does Miaowa GEO track competitors, and how are competitor mentions counted?

Yes. The 44 unbranded prompts are buyer comparison questions, so every brand an answer names is on record. The workspace's brand-and-competitor visibility panel and competitor arena score each brand in an audited dictionary by share of answers mentioning it, platforms covered, prompts covered and rank for the period, with a link to the underlying answers. The competitor list comes from the audited dictionary, never from free-form entity extraction.

Yes, and it is included in every plan. Of the 50 prompts per cycle, 44 name no brand at all: they are the discovery and comparison questions a buyer asks, and the answer to each one is effectively a shortlist. Every brand on that shortlist is in the stored answer text. The workspace matches those answers against an audited brand dictionary and gives you, for your brand and each competitor, the share of answers mentioning it, the platforms and prompts it appears on, and its rank for the period. Every cell links back to the original answer, screenshot and sources. What it measures is who is on the list when a buyer asks an AI, and where you sit, not social-media volume.

Where the competitor list comes from

Only from the audited brand dictionary. You name the competitors you care about during project setup; we confirm spellings, aliases and English names in the first reviewed report, and every later cycle is matched against that same dictionary. The workspace deliberately does not run free-form brand recognition over answers, because media outlets, AI platforms and ordinary organisations would be misclassified as competitors. A new brand that shows up in answers is listed in the reviewed report as mentioned-in-answers and enters the dictionary for the next period only after confirmation. To add or change competitors, tell us in the workspace or via /en/contact.

Mentioned is not the same as recommended

  • A mention only means the dictionary matched the answer text. It does not imply a recommendation, positive sentiment or purchase intent; an answer that lists a brand as a counter-example still counts as one mention.
  • Rank is the period ranking by share of mentioning answers, not the order the AI listed brands in. For order, open the original answer.
  • Sentiment is a human review label applied to your brand only, not to competitors.
  • On the cross-platform plan, competitor figures cover the platforms you selected; a full six-platform comparison is a project or managed engagement.

How to use it

  1. Check the denominator and evidence completeness first so the period has enough valid observations, then compare shares.
  2. Find the prompts where a competitor appears and you do not, open those answers and read which pages the AI cited: those pages are your content team's remediation list.
  3. Cycles run every 72 hours on the same frozen prompt set, so competitor shares are comparable across cycles; do not conclude anything from a single cycle's movement.
How many competitors can I add?
The dictionary is built from the competitor list you give at project setup and is not priced by count; how many you can actually compare depends on whether those brands appear in answers at all. Project and managed engagements can agree a fuller competitor matrix in the contract.
Can I see which pages are cited for a competitor?
Yes. Source URLs and titles are stored per answer and never de-duplicated across prompts; open any answer that mentions the competitor to see exactly which pages the AI cited at the time.
Are competitor sentiment and recommendation position tracked?
No. Sentiment is labelled for your brand only; competitors get share of mentioning answers, platforms, prompts and rank. Check recommendation order in the original answers.
