Corrections & revisions

When something is wrong, there should be a way in — and the change should be visible.

We accept correction requests for published pages, articles, methodology notes, data displays and brand facts. Whether you are a client or a partner does not change the standard a fact is checked against.

Submitting a correction

Give us enough to check it

Email contact@miaowageo.com with “content correction” in the subject line. It helps to include:

  • the exact page URL, heading and paragraph;
  • the wording you believe is wrong or misleading;
  • the accurate wording you would suggest, and a publicly checkable source;
  • if it concerns a person or a company, your relationship to that party.
How we handle it

The impact of the error decides the response

Factual error

A name, entity, number, date, product specification or citation attribution is wrong. Verified, then corrected directly.

Method error

A sample, denominator, de-duplication, calculation or stated limitation is wrong. Affected conclusions are recomputed and the scope explained.

Material omission

Missing context, relationship or limitation that would significantly change how a reader understands the piece. Disclosed and the page updated.

Difference of judgement

The facts are right but the reading differs. Not automatically an error; where useful we add the reasoning, the boundary or the alternative interpretation.

Revision record

What gets a public note

  • Revisions that change a core conclusion, a number, an attribution or a recommended action: the “last updated” date changes and the reason is stated.
  • Errors that affect several pages or reports: we check content drawn from the same source, rather than fixing one place.
  • Spelling, punctuation, styling, dead links and language tidying that does not change meaning: not separately recorded.
  • Removal requests involving privacy, intellectual property or security are assessed separately under the privacy policy and applicable rules.
Independent judgement

Raising a correction is not the same as controlling the conclusion

We welcome additional material from the party concerned, and we check source, date, entity and scope. Statements that cannot be publicly verified are marked as that party’s account or as unverified. A well-founded observation is not replaced because of a commercial relationship.
