Price lists for AI visibility tools look similar at the top, $29 to $99 a month, and diverge quickly once you add the engines and prompts you actually need. The reason is that vendors use four different pricing units. This guide explains each unit, lists the published entry prices on 2026-09-10 and works one example so that you can compare quotes on the same basis.

Prices are quoted in the currency shown on each vendor's page (US dollars for Profound, Otterly and Semrush; Chinese yuan for Miaowa GEO). We do not convert currencies because the exchange rate is not the buyer's main variable; the invoice entity and payment method are.
Add-ons that change the total
- Extra engines: Otterly lists Claude at $29 to $439 per month depending on plan, and Google AI Mode or Gemini at $9 to $149 per month.
- Extra prompts: Otterly sells 100 extra prompts for $99 per month; Profound and Peec move you to the next tier.
- Users and reports: Semrush prices additional users from $45 per month and report add-ons from $10 per month.
- Annual discounts: Otterly about 15%; Profound shows yearly billing with two months free; Miaowa GEO charges 11 months for 12.
- Agent or AI credits: Profound includes 100 to 400 credits per month; they are a separate consumable from prompts.

The example shows the trap: at 50 prompts on three engines, the cheapest tier of each tool is not the tier you will end up on. Compare the tier that fits your prompt count and engine list, not the price in the headline.
Costs that are not on the price list
- Time spent writing prompts: tools that sell prompt flexibility hand the prompt design to you; a fixed prompt map costs flexibility but not hours.
- Acting on the results: no tool changes your website or earns coverage; budget for content and third-party sources.
- Cross-border payment: card payments in USD from a Chinese company involve bank fees and, for some finance teams, procurement approvals.
- Second platform family: a domestic Chinese tool for Doubao and DeepSeek is a separate line item.
- Is per-prompt pricing always more expensive?
- Not at small prompt counts. It becomes expensive when you add engines and daily cadence, because the bill multiplies. Fixed-prompt pricing is cheaper to predict but cannot shrink below its fixed set.
